DreamShip Lands at 11th Annual Chester County Balloon Festival to Lift Up Dreams of Military Families

We at the Chester County Balloon Festival are very proud to announce The Dreamship will be joining us at the festival all three days this year! The DreamShip is a fully operational hot air balloon, designed by the children of America’s military heroes. Thanks to support from The Rite Aid Foundation’s KidCents program, the DreamShip is traveling the country to raise awareness and support for Folds of Honor, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational scholarships to children of fallen or disabled service members. With a design as unique as its mission, the DreamShip showcases artwork created by Folds of Honor Scholarship recipients symbolizing their hopes and dreams for the future.

Helpful Hints for a Great Time at the Balloon Festival

Coming to the must attend event of the year? The Chester County Balloon Festival June 24-26 2016 is the place to be. Here are a few hints to make your time more enjoyable.

  • Bring lawn chairs and blankets
  • Leave your cooler at home, it’s against FAA airport security regulations
  • Put your sunscreen on
  • Wear light clothing
  • Hats are a great way to keep cool
  • Bring your sense of adventure
  • Be patient… parking may back up during prime time and there may be lines too

Don’t forget your camera! If you get some good shots, please feel free to share them with us - ccballoonfest@air-ventures.com or post them on Facebook.

You might want to bring cash. We do accept credit cards and there will be ATM machines on site. Some vendors will also be able to accept credit cards, not all.

Cell phone reception may not be optimal because we are in an area with an influx of activity on cell towers. No one knows if the cellular system can handle the usage all at one time.

Thank you all for participation in the 10th Annual Chester County Balloon Festival…one of the happiest places to be!

Michael Anthony Band Playing at Chester County Balloon Festival

Chester County Balloon Festival is happy to announce the performance of the Anthony Michael Band Friday, June 24th 2016 at the New Garden Airport. The four-piece band is scheduled to play at 4pm shortly before the chase crews start setting up the balloons.

The Anthony Michael Band is not just your average cover band. The group combines classic rock, red rock and blues, rockabilly, country, and an out-of-the-box mix of influential music and original songs.

Band front man, Anthony Caserta, has always had a strong connection to the artist Johnny Cash, and has allowed Cash’s songs to heavily influence the sound of the Anthony Michael Band. The band embraces many genres of music into their normal set.

We want to convey the same messages Johnny Cash did with his music now.” Caserta says. “The songs, the stories, and the music.

The band, which usually performs in summer concert series, and other local events and festivals, is especially looking forward to the Chester County Balloon Festival.

We’re looking forward to bringing our show, our music, and our message to new people and have a good time doing it,” Caserta expressed.

Anthony Michael Band will be performing a variety of cover and original songs at the Festival. Come out to the event to see them among other musicians later in the weekend, as well as an array of activities for the family. Buy tickets now on our website.

Local Balloonist Flying at Chester County Balloon Festival

Jonathan Carter is the pilot/owner of Carter Country Flights, LLC. Jonathan began his career in ballooning at the age of 14, when he started crewing for a local company. Jonathan became a private pilot in 1995 at the age of 18 and his commercial license in 2003. He continued working with local pilots to gain experience, as both a crew member and pilot, and was the Crew Chief of the American Flag during its inaugural year. Jonathan’s dream of owning his own balloon finally became a reality with the purchase of “First Born” in 2005 and thus was the beginning of Carter Country Flights. Jonathan, his family and crew currently fly in the Chester County area with his second balloon, “Boyhood Dream,” and attend several balloon festivals each year on the east coast.
