May 5, 2018 TOUGHKENAMON, PA - The 12th annual Chester County Balloon Festival running from June 22nd to June 24th at the New Garden Flying Field (Toughkenamon, PA) is full of firsts in 2018! While a longtime supporter, the locally brewed and locally loved Victory Brewing Company is this year’s new presenting sponsor. Another first includes Sky Dive Flag Jump, marking the start of festival activities on Friday. Also new to 2018 is a jet car demonstration, powered paragliding demonstrations and dog agility demos by the Dog Training Club of Chester County (DTCCC). Just confirmed, Ken Cage from Discovery Channel’s Airplane Repo will serve as MC for some of this year’s events.

Toughkenamon, PA - Celebrating our 10th year, the Chester County Balloon Festival is a staple of fun across the southern Chester County landscape benefiting the local community in many ways. 24 balloons or so will paint the sky on the weekend of June 24-26, 2016 at the New Garden Flying Field in Toughkenamon, PA. The airport is located at 1235 Newark Road just off Highway 1, allowing convenient access for visitors from all over Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and New York.

The three-day event highlights hot air balloon taking flight twice per day, balloon glows Friday and Saturday night (Sunday if weather does not permit Sat), several special shaped balloons, tethered balloon rides, and a walk-thru balloon. Fireworks will light up the sky on Saturday night.(Sunday raindate) In addition to the customary balloon rides, the Festival will also offer other forms of flight including introductory airplane flights, helicopter, Pt-19 and Cessna 172 plane rides, and remote control plane demonstrations. The “Kids Zone” will include a flight simulators and other hands on projects manned by the youth instructors of the Future Aviator Camp and the Girl Scouts robotics team from Philly.

The Festival will continue to feature local band, Half Past Seven all three evenings, Micheal Anthony Band with lots of Jonny Cash tunes on Friday and Kelsey, country style band on Sunday as well. There are over 100 craft and food vendors, the opportunity to try scuba diving, and sample craft beer and wine sponsored by Victory Brewing Company, Paradocx Vineyard and Harvest Ridge Winery. Several new vendors have joined the festivities including Monster truck rides, knockerball and archery tag along with other carnival games.

The Chester County Balloon Festival, for the past 10 years local community groups and youth sport organizations. Last year it has expanded to supported the Chester County Hero Fund for local first responders and their families that have been injured or lost while doing their jobs. Sunday will be Hero’s Day at the Festival. Fire trucks from local townships will parade down the runway and be on display during the afternoon. Firefighters will entertain spectators with a rescue demos using the Jaws of Life and other tools of the trade.

Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for tethered at the event. Untethered balloon rides, helicopter, and plane rides can be purchased in advance online through the website or at the event. Purchase your flights early as they sell out quickly. Buy admission tickets early and receive an Early Bird discount. Online ticket sales are available until June 24, at gates open. Visitors are welcome to come out early on Saturday and Sunday morning to watch the balloons lift off, free of charge. Balloons will take off Saturday and Sunday morning between 5:30-6:30 a.m. (weather permitting).
The airport will remain open from 8 am until 5 Sat and Sun and admission is free for those who wish to fly in. Please be aware that the airport will be closed between 5:00 and 8 AM Sat and Sun and 5- 10 PM Friday and Sat nites. And 5- 7:30 on Sunday.

Toughkenamon, PA - The 11th Annual Chester County Balloon Festival is being held the weekend of June 23, 24, and 25th 2017 at the New Garden Flying Field, Toughkenamon, Pennsylvania. In order to make the Festival a success, we need local landowners’ help by welcoming a balloon to your land in your yard. Balloons fly twice a day at dawn and dusk.

If you are willing to let the balloons land on your property, lay a white sheets in form of an “X” to let the pilots know they have your permission to land on your property. As a thank you, you will be entered into a raffle to win entrance tickets to local attractions, local restaurants gift certificates, Chester County Balloon Festival magnets, book markers, or gift cards just to name a few.

Toughkenamon, PA - The 10th Annual Chester County Balloon Festival is in need of volunteers for the weekend of June 24, 25, and 26th 2016 at the New Garden Flying Field, Toughkenamon, Pennsylvania.
 
We would love to have you join our team to help onsite at the ticket booth, parking, vendor support, balloon/pilot crew, VIP assistance, setup/tear down, or help with pre-event work. We have something for everyone. In return, volunteers will receive free parking, a volunteer t-shirt, food vouchers and most importantly, the satisfaction of being involved with a wonderful community event.
 
As an individual this is a great way to meet new people, while having fun as well as a unique opportunity to fulfill the graduation community service requirements or for a sports group. Ask how your group can use it as platform to fund raise for your own organization.  We need whatever time you can give with various skills, shifts, and days available, we just ask that you commit to at least 5 hours.
 
•    Volunteers must be 15 years or older. Age 13-14 can help but must be with someone 15+.
•    Balloon Chase Crew volunteers must be 18 years or older and it would be helpful to have experience driving trailers plus local knowledge of the area.

Volunteers will be required to attend an instructional meeting on either Sunday, June 5 at noon or Wednesday, June 8 at 7 p.m. at the New Garden Flying Field located at 1235 Newark Road just off Highway 1 at the Toughkenamon exit.
